New York Giants Cornerback Walter Thurmond Lost for the Season
The New York Giants are among several teams that have drafted former Oregon Ducks on defense the last few years. Walter Thurmond spent time on one of the best defenses in the country last season with the Seattle Seahawks and signed a deal to play with the New York Giants in 2014, where he was expected to contribute and lead. However the team is not off to a good start this season and received even more bad news, worse their 0-2 start on Monday.

Thurmond will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn pectoral muscle in a 25-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, according to the New York Post. The former Oregon Ducks 2014 season lasted two games. He signed a 3.5 millon dollar one year contract in the offseason.
The New York Giants were hoping that the Defense would be an area of strength this season, but have been more a disappointment with the team giving up big plays in their first two games against Detroit last Monday night and against Arizona. The team does have the waiver wire available. The starters at Cornerback are Prince Amukamara and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie for the moment. The road does not get easier this season for the Giants.
New York hosts the Texans this weekend and travel to Washington next week who is without Quarterback Robert Griffin III for five or six weeks, according to reports. He dislocated his ankle in Sunday’s game against Jacksonville.
