Oregon Ducks Volleyball Sweeps Oregon State, 11-0(1-0) As Pac-12 Play Begins
It was a milestone night for the Oregon Women’s Volleyball team as Head Coach Jim Moore inches closer to two-hundred wins on his career with Oregon. After starting a daunting non-conference schedule unblemished and 10-0 the Oregon Ducks welcomed a Civil War battle with in state rival Oregon State to open Pac-12 Conference play. The Beavers started the season 10-1 heading into Matthew Knight Arena on Wednesday night.

The night started with the Oregon Ducks taking the first set 25-22, but in the second set the team had an issue with gaining momentum in the second set. Liz Brenner decided to take command with two digs and a kill to bring the match even at 22-22 before finally adding two addional digs and a point to finish off Oregon State taking set two 27-25. Oregon took the third set 25-19. Brenner was instrumental on the night to get the Oregon Ducks to 1-0 in the Pac-12 this season.
The Oregon Ducks outdug Oregon State 63-40 and hit over .300 for the match. Martenne Bettendorf had fifteen kills on the night. Brenner added fourteen. Oregon hosts Colorado in Pac-12 play on Saturday at 7pm at Matthew Knight Arena before starting a road trip next week to Stanford and Cal.
