De’Anthony Thomas Set to Make Regular Season NFL Debut on Sunday vs 49ers
If you watched the NFL Preseason game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals and caught De’Anthony Thomas running a kickoff back for a touchdown, you may be in store for more DAT magic this weekend. After suffering what now seems to be a nagging hamstring injury several weeks ago, Thomas is now listed as ‘probable’ and will make his regular season National Football League debut this weekend against the San Francisco 49ers.

Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid said Thomas was ‘good to go’ in a press conference earlier this week and his impact will likely be in the return game this week. He could also make an appearance as a Wide Receiver, but I would think KC would be cautious with De’Anthony Thomas and stick to one section of the playbook for his first official week in the NFL. The former Oregon Ducks Running Back did practice last week, but did not play in the win against the New England Patriots.
Kansas City expects De’Anthony Thomas to have some growing pains on Sunday, but from watching him at Oregon and against Cincinnati in the preseason I would expect a big play or two on Sunday. The Chiefs and 49ers kickoff on Sunday at 1:25pm Pacific Time on CBS.
