PAC-12 Football Weekend Recap Week 8

Oregon showed what they can do when healthy, but Utah and Southern California really flexed their muscle. UCLA held on for a road victory where Arizona State gained some revenge on Stanford from last season’s conference title game.

Here are all the results from this weekend of PAC-12 conference play.

Thursday, October 16 –

20 Utah Utes (5-1, 2-1 PAC-12) 29 @ Oregon State Beavers (4-2, 1-2 PAC-12) 23 F/2OT: This was a fun Thursday night contest that last two overtimes. The difference was Oregon State missing a field goal in the second overtime which Utah followed up with a Devontae Booker winning touchdown. Utah won by running not throwing as the Utes had 253 yards rushing and only 62 passing. Booker 229 with three scores on 32 carries. Sean Mannion lead OSU with 272 yards passing with two TD’s but did throw an interception. Next up for No. 19 Utah is a home game versus No. 20 Southern California (5-2, 4-1 PAC-12) at 7 pm/FOX Sports 1. Oregon State travels to Palo Alto against Stanford (4-3, 2-2 PAC-12) at 12:30 pm/ESPN2.

Saturday, October 18 –

UCLA Bruins (5-2, 2-2 PAC-12) 36 @ California Golden Bears (4-3, 2-3 PAC-12) 34: Things have been rough for UCLA and a third loss would’ve added to this but they held off a pesky Cal team. Despite outgaining the Bears by 200 yards it was three Bruins turnovers that kept things close. Brett Hundley had 330 passing and 94 yards rushing with three total TD’s but did throw a pick. Jared Goff was again solid in a defeat throwing for 303 yards with two touchdown passes. No. 25 UCLA is at Colorado (2-5, 0-4 PAC-12) at Noon/PAC-12 Network. California hosts No. 6 Oregon (6-1, 3-1 PAC-12) on Friday night at 7 pm/FOX Sports 1.

Colorado Buffaloes (2-5, 0-4 PAC-12) 28 @ 22 Southern California Trojans (5-2, 4-1 PAC-12) 56: USC put this out of reach running out to a 28-0 lead after the opening quarter. Cody Kessler threw seven touchdown passes and for 319 yards completing 19-of-26. Javorius Allen rushed for 128 yards with a score for the Trojans. Sefo Liufau threw two touchdown passes but also was picked twice. Colorado hosts No. 25 UCLA (5-2, 2-2 PAC-12) at Noon/PAC-12 Network. No. 20 USC travels to Salt Lake City versus No. 19 Utah (5-1, 2-1 PAC-12).

Washington Huskies (5-2, 1-2 PAC-12) 20 @ 9 Oregon Ducks (6-1, 3-1 PAC-12) 45: Washington jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Oregon scored 35 of the next 38 points before the Huskies got a TD before half. Marcus Mariota put on another clinic passing for 336 yards on 24-of-33 with two passing scores. Royce Freeman was the story running for 169 yards reaching the end zone four times. Cyler Miles was 19-of-28 throwing but that lead to only 147 yards with one TD. Washington will host No. 14 ASU (5-1, 3-1 PAC-12) at 7:45 pm/ESPN. No. 9 Oregon travels south to Berkeley for a Friday night match-up at Cal (4-3, 2-3 PAC-12) kickoff will be at 7 pm/FOX Sports 1.

23 Stanford Cardinal (4-3, 2-2 PAC-12) 10 @ 17 Arizona State Sun Devils (5-1, 3-1 PAC-12) 26: Arizona State made a statement Saturday night in Tempe dominating Stanford. It was a bit of revenge for ASU after losing to the Cardinal on this field last year in the conference title game. Mike Bercovici threw for 245 yards throwing for a score. D.J. Foster rushed for 59 yards while having 92 receiving with one TD. Kevin Hogan threw for 212 yards, Ty Montgomery had 82 yards receiving and 57 more on kick returns in the defeat. Stanford hosts Oregon State (4-2, 1-2 PAC-12) at 12:30 pm/ESPN. No. 14 Arizona State travels to Seattle against Washington (5-2, 1-2 PAC-12).
