Late last month the rosters were announced for the Fall League All-Star Game and a former Oregon Ducks Starter/Closer was on the list. Jake Reed had a decent season in 2014, his first for the Minnesota Twins farm team going 3-0 with eight saves, thirty-nine strikeouts and three walks across two levels. He had twenty appearances for the season.

In the Arizona Fall League for the Salt River Rafters, Reed was also impressive going 1-0 with one save and a 0.00 Earned Run Average. His accomplishments during the season were enough for him to get some notice and be invited to take part on the Fall League All-Star Classic. The game was broadcast on MLB Network on Saturday and the East team beat the West 6-2.

Reed played a part in the victory for the East entering in the seventh inning and threw a complete inning. He threw thirteen pitches, nine for strikes and gave up just one hit in his short appearance.

The Salt River Rafters now move to the final month of the season in the Fall League with a 14-5-3 record and at the top of the East Standings. The Championship game between the two best teams will be played on Saturday, November 15th.
