The Baltimore Ravens will finish the regular season without a key component of their Defense. Former Oregon Ducks Haloti Ngata was suspended four games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. He admitted to taking Adderall, which is on the banned substance list. The timing could not be worse for Baltimore.

The team is in the middle of the playoff hunt. In his ten years in the league the Pro Bowl player has become known as a run stopper. He will be eligible to return to action following the game against Cleveland Browns in December 29th in the teams regular season finale according to NFL.com.

The report says Ngata was embarrased when he found about about the suspension. He took the drug because he was feeling sluggish balancing work and home life and it allowed him to concentrate better.

This season the Defensive End has thirty one tackles, two sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles. Baltimore visits Miami this week to take on the Dolphins, who are on a roll of late and also in the middle of the playoff hunt. Miami beat the New York Jets on Monday Night Football last week. The Ravens will also face the Jaguars and Texans before taking on Cleveland to finish the regular season.
