Oregon Baseball Comes From Behind in 3-2 Win Over Hawaii
After a blowout win on Friday night against Hawaii the Oregon Ducks had some adversity to deal with on Saturday afternoon. They did manage to come back for their second win of the season thanks to Nick Catalano and clutch hitting. He his a two run home run to secure the victory, the first of his career. Compared to the day before where Oregon’s Offense had the run on the home team, runs were harder to come by on Saturday.

Oregon left eleven runners stranded, eight in scoring position through the first seven frames of the game. Oregon Pitching again took center stage and was solid as three pitchers combined to give up just two hits in the game. It is, of course, a long season, but this is a great start for the twentieth ranked Oregon Ducks. Add to that a player on Offense who can’t seem to find himself out and after two games the season looks a little brighter.
Mitchell Tolman is playing in the middle of the Oregon lineup and through two games is five for six with two walks and is hitting .667 on the year. He was also hit by a pitch. Freshman Pitcher David Peterson also had a solid first outing on Saturday.
Peterson allowed two runs in six innings of work. He struck out eight and walked two. The third game of the series will see Trent Paddon on the mound for the Oregon Ducks. The game is set for 3:05pm Pacific Time Sunday.
