The Oregon Ducks had to rally for the second time in four games to start the season and found a way to grit out their third win of the season in the finale against Hawaii on Sunday. The Rainbow Warriors went up 2-0 in the bottom of the sixth and the Ducks turned to Reliever Stephen Nagosek to close the door. He did, in a big way.

He pitched the final three innings of shutout baseball giving Oregon a chance to tie or win the game in the top of the ninth and George Horton’s team would not let this one get away. An intentional walk and two hits in the top of the ninth allowed Oregon to take the lead 3-2 and win the series against Hawaii 3-1 to start the season. Some things stood out in the Season Opening series.

Mitchell Tolman started the year with a four game hitting streak and six hits on the early 2015 season. He is hitting just below .500 at .462 and will again be a player to watch for Oregon this season. The Ducks now return home to PK Park.

New Mexico will help Oregon open their 2015 Home slate with a three game series starting on Thursday night at 6pm, Friday at 6pm, Saturday at 2pm, and Sunday at Noon.
