Oregon Softball Starts Season 8-0 After Doubleheader Sweep in Texas
The Oregon Softball team did not let the weather get in their way for the first time this season in a pushed back series in Texas against Houston. The Ducks won Game 12-0 and Game 2 10-5 and had strong pitching performances in both games. Geri Ann Glasco and Cheridan Hawkins combined their effort in Game One. Game Two had the Oregon Ducks off to a fast start scoring three runs in the first inning.

In the second game Oregon was also not very forgiving scoring ten runs on fourteen hits. Houston nearly tied the game in the fifth pulling within the Oregon lead 6-5.
With the series against Houston being pushed back a day due to Thunderstorms Oregon now faces a unique task in they will now play games on five consecutive days, a good early season test for a team looking primed early for a post season run. Oregon heads to College Station, Texas today to take on Sam Houston State and Texas A&M before entering the Baylor Classic in a weekend series starting tomorrow in Waco to take on seventh ranked Baylor on Thursday.
Friday through Sunday Oregon will navigate four teams in the quest to remain undefeated in Abelene Christian, Tulsa, North Texas and another top ten team in seventh ranked Baylor.
