Oregon Ducks Crank Up The Offense, Hit Ten Home Runs To Beat Washington

The Oregon Ducks Softball team exacted some revenge from Saturday’s loss against the Washington Huskies at Howe Field in a big way on Sunday. The Huskies snapped the Ducks thirteen game winning streak in a 10-2 run rule victory. Oregon also lost Left Fielder Janie Takeda, likely for a while with what Head Coach Mike White is calling a dislocated shoulder. She did not play on Sunday.

Oregon has not issued a statement concerning the status of Takeda, which likely means her status is Day to Day.

The finale of the series featured ten home runs for the home team. Oregon blew the game open in the third inning with ten runs. The Ducks hit five home runs in the inning Hailey Decker and Geri Ann Glasco both had two runs, Glaso had three for the game. Nikki Udria added a homer run and Oregon batted a full round as Decker hit her second of the inning before the final out.

Decker becomes just the third player to hit three home runs in a game on Oregon History. The team will head south and meet up with tenth ranked UCLA for a weekend series starting on Friday at 5pm Pacific Time. The game will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.
