The losing streak continued for the Oregon Ducks on Tuesday in a non-conference loss to the Portland Pilots. Over the last ten games nothing has gone right for George Horton’s team and an end to the slump keeps getting further and further away. Oregon has won just four of their last ten games and did not have a very good month of March. April is also starting out on a losing note.

More from Oregon Ducks Baseball

It was a scoreless first inning before the 6-24 Pilots started to peck away at Oregon pitching picking up a run in three straight innings for a 3-0 lead. Portland added three more runs in the fifth off an error, which made them all unearned. Oregon did get some offense on the board, but it was too late. Shaun Chase hit a two run home run and Scott Heinemann hit his first home run since 2013 in the loss. The Oregon Bullpen had another stellar outing.

Unfortunately, it was too late for the Offense to help in this one. Cooper Stiles gave up three unearned runs in three innings and Stephen Nagosek threw the final two innings. In the game the Oregon Offense struck out ten times and managed just four hits in the 6-4 loss.

Oregon now heads to Hillsboro for a game with Seattle on Wednesday before returning home to PK Park to continue non-conference action with Michigan State this weekend.
