It has been a good week for the Oregon Ducks on the recruitment side. Earlier this week Oregon received a commitment for an Offensive Lineman Jacob Capra and on Friday came word that 4-star Cornerback Troy Warner has also committed to the Oregon Ducks for the Class of 2016, becoming the seventh member of next year’s class. Warner is six foot two and one-hundred eighty five pounds out of San Marcos, California.

According to 247Sports he is listed as the fifth best Safety in the nation.

Barton Simmons with 247Sports says Warner is an elite pickup for the Oregon Ducks

, “We like his versatility, like the way he competes and think that the Ducks got a major value pickup with this commitment.” I agree with his assessment.  Warner is lanky and could end up playing in multiple positions on the Defensive side of the ball with the Ducks and could push for immediate playing time his Freshman season with his versatility.

Warner becomes the seventh member of the Class of 2016 and the second on Defense along with four-star Safety Brady Breeze. He also had offers from BYU, where his older brother Fred is a Sophomore, along with Arizona, Cal, Notre Dame, Stanford, UCLA and Utah.
