Chandler Granted Release From Oregon Ducks, Averaged 2 Points Per Game in 2014-15
The Oregon Basketball team will lose one of their big men for the upcoming season as Michael Chandler has been granted his release from the program. Nagging injuries from pretty much the time he arrived kept him from becoming a full particpant in games during the 2014-15 season.
Last season Chandler had a nagging foot injury that kept his time limited in practice which then translated to a limited role on the team for the season. He could never really get back to his non-injured self to show his talent on the court with the Oregon Ducks. However, the time he did give on the court was noticed as he helped the team get to the NCAA Tournament this past season. Chandler transferred from Northwest Florida State and was in nineteen games for Oregon this season. He averaged 2.2 points and 1.4 rebounds per game mainly as a bench player.
Chandler has one year of eligibility remaining.
"“We would like to thank Michael for being an important part of our team this season, and respect his wish to find the best opportunity moving forward, we wish Michael all the best in the future.”Statement from Oregon Ducks Head Coach Dana Altman on Chandler’s Release"
