Oregon Ducks Set For Midweek Set With Gonzaga at PK Park

When it comes to making a post season push, the Oregon Ducks are trying pretty hard to get noticed. After a weekend series win on the road at Washington State, George Horton has watched his team win four of their last five series entering a two game mid week set with non-conference foe Gonzaga before hitting the road again this weekend to take on Utah.

Mitchell Tolman is hot of late leading the charge against Washington State. In the series finale on Sunday. He had four runs on Sunday and now has one-hundred twenty hits in his career which makes him the career leader at Oregon. He is also one double away from tying the record of forty-two doubles held by former Oregon Duck Ryon Healy.

Gonzaga enters the series with Oregon winning just four of their last ten games. As a team they are 10-13 since the beginning of April. The Bulldogs are in a similar spot fighting for a chance at post season play as the Ducks. Offensively, the best day of the season for the Gonzaga was Saturday. they best Pacific 19-2 with eleven extra base hits and twenty throughout the game. It was their highest scoring game not only of the season, but in the last ten years.

A good showing by Oregon with a sweep this week of Gonzaga could go a long way in determining their post season fate. The Ducks and Bulldogs take the field on Tuesday and Wednesday night at PK Park. First pitch is set for 6pm both nights.
