Oregon Football Recruiting: 4-Star OLB Darrian Franklin Commits to Oregon
When it comes to recruting battles, the Oregon Ducks usually find themselves in the middle of quite a few from offseason to offseason, but none could be more important to the 2015 season then the one they won on Saturday afternoon when Oregon received a hard commitment from Class of 2016 Outside Linebacker Darrian Franklin.

Franklin is the tenth commitment of the Class of 2016 which is beginning to turn into another top recruiting class for Head Coach Mark Helfrich.
247Sports lists the four star recruit
as the 40th best out of the State of California((Downey) and the 22nd best at his position on the field. The Crystal Ball Predictions had him committing to USC by 74 percent over the Oregon Ducks, but Oregon Defensive Coordinator Don Pellum was able to sway him.
According to Andrew Nemic from the Oregonian, Pellum and Franklin seemed to have an instant connection, “”We talk almost every day. I’m very close with Coach P. He’s been to my school and I can call him whenever I want. He’s a cool guy. He tells me what he likes me as and we talk about how my day is.”
Franklin had other possible suitors from not just the Pac-12, but from around the country. Over half the teams in the Pac-12 including the already mentioned USC, UCLA, Arizona, Colorado, Stanford and Washington State. He was also on the radar for Michigan, Miami and Oklahoma. I would expect him to compete for a starting spot for Oregon from the moment he sets foot on campus.
National Signing Day is set for February 3rd 2016.
