The Oregon Ducks are working on Defense for the Class of 2016 and one recruit that could have been a key cog made his college decision on Friday. 4-star Linebacker Bryce Youngquist narrowed his options to two schools, Oregon and Oklahoma and committed to the Sooners. 247Sports lists Youngquist as the twenty-sixth best player at the position. He announced on June 12th that Oregon was his leader at that time, but decided otherwise.
Youngquist told Bleacher Report that the decision was the ‘toughest of his life’ between the Big 12 and Pac 12. He becomes the first Linebacker on the Sooners list for the Class of 2016.
"“I felt this was the best place for me to succeed. That’s the bottom line. I wish I could have more than one school, but I had to choose one.”Recruit Bryce Youngquist on his commitment decision"
The 4-star Linebacker talked with Scout.com further on his decision of Oklahoma over the Oregon Ducks, “Oregon is great program, I have nothing but great things to say about them,” Youngquist said. “For me, Oklahoma was the place where I fit in the best. It wasn’t even about football for me as much as finding that comfort level and where I thought I would be happy off the field as well as on the football field.
Bryce Youngquist also had offers from Washington State, Arizona State and Wisconsin.
