Ducks In The NFL: Marcus Mariota Impressive With His Feet in Second Start With Titans

Marcus Mariota started his second straight preseason game on Sunday night in the Tennessee Titans home opener of the Preseason hosting the St Louis Rams. The former Oregon Quarterback did something he did not have the chance to in hist first preseason appearance. Run. made it appear that he had done this for years, and well, if you look to what he did in college – he has. The National Football League level is a totally different level of pressure and so far, it appears Marcus Mariota is mastering the class in how to deal with it.

Mariota was five for nine for under fifty yards, but showed off his skills that earned him the second overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. On one play, Mariota rolled right and threw a thirty-five yard pass on the run with perfect precision.

According to the Tennessean, Mariota had the advantage for the first time in the preseason to communicate with Titans Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt during the first series. On the night, the former Oregon Quarterback went five for eight for fifty-nine yards and no interceptions.

The Titans were dominant with the ball in the 27-14 win at Nissan Stadium. Marcus Mariota helped get the team down the field on several drives before backup Zach Mettenberger helped to build a 20-0 lead over the Rams. Tennessee did put up a field goal on one of the drives led by Mariota.

Tennessee continues the warm-up to the regular season on Thursday night at Kansas City with a 2pm Pacific Time kickoff.
