The Oregon Women’s Volleyball team is enjoying some time off after starting the 2015 Regular season on the road to the tune of a 6-3 non-conference mark. The only bumps in the road that Oregon ran into were against Top Ten teams in Florida, who swept the Ducks, and Nebraska who took Oregon to a five set thriller winning the final three sets and the match. The team started the season sweeping the Temple Invitational and also beating LIU Brooklyn and George Washington.
The Pac-12 has been well represented in the AVCA poll this season. Including the Oregon Ducks there are seven teams ranked, including USC(3), Washington(7), Stanford(8), Arizona State(10), UCLA(14), Arizona(16) and Oregon(18). The Ducks will have an opportunity to make a move in the standings with wins this season, as they did in 2014.
Oregon ended last week ranked twelfth in the nation according to the AVCA Weekly poll. This week the team dropped seven spots to nineteenth. The Ducks won’t take to the floor again for another ten days as they enter the Pac-12 schedule facing Oregon State on the road in Corvallis on September 24th before welcoming Colorado to Matthew Knight Arena for their first home game of the season on Friday, October 2nd.
