Will Oregon Start An Injured Vernon Adams or a Healthy Jeff Lockie?

We don’t know for sure if he will play as a ‘game time decision.’ I believe he should sit this game out and get some rest, but he did show appear after practice earlier this week without  a splint on his hand. Adams needs to rest up for the Pac-12 season that begin next week with a Utah team that is still somewhat of a mystery. The Eastern Washington Transfer threw two intereceptions last week in a road game at Michigan State, but was still able to make key throws to put the Ducks on the doorstep to a win with the final drive of the game, but Oregon fell by three points 31-28 in East Lansing.

In practice this week first team reps were split between Adams and Veteran Jeff Lockie, who has yet to see the field this season.  Lockie is an obvious choice for this game. Not only does it make sense with his experience with the team over the last several years, but it would allow him to get his feet wet for the season at Autzen. Regardless of who starts the game, I expect Lockie will get ample playing time on Saturday.
