Oregon Beats Georgia State, Questions About the Ducks Secondary Remain
The Oregon Ducks took some time on Saturday before they pulled away in the third and fourth quarter against Georgia State. Oregon Starter Jeff Lockie, in his first start, threw for two touchdowns. The Defense up front was solid forcing Panthers Quarterback Nick Arbuckle into three sacks. The Oregon Secondary allowed three-hundred eighteen yards, including a pass play of seventy-five yards for a touchdown. Oregon had some fireworks of their own.
Third String Walk On Quarterback Taylor Allie had a run of his own for eighty-seven yards for a touchdown to go with Running Back Royce Freeman with ten carries and one-hundred ten yards. It was another player on Offense that grabbed my attention. Freshman Taj Griffinhad fourteen carries for fifty six yards and a score. He had a run down the right side and a dive toward the pylon that in the end came up just short and the ball was placed on the one yard line. The Kicking game got in a good workout on Saturday.
Aiden Schneider was four for four on field goals, including three from forty-yard range. He also put in seven extra points and was accountable for seventeen total points for the day. The Oregon Defense also had a good day with two interceptions from Tyree Robinson, one taken back for a touchdown at the start of the game. Joe Walker also returned a forced fumble back for a score.
