USC Hosts Stanford Cardinal To Kickoff Conference Play

This was one of those matchups that raised some eyebrows before the season. The ground and pound that is a Stanford Cardinal trademark against a more flash and dash USC team and there were certainly moments of dash on Saturday night. Adoree’ Jackson was on full display in the return game with one-hundred eighteen yards, and Quarterback Cody Kessler had the Trojans Offense moving to the tune of three touchdown passes and four hundred twenty seven yards of Offense, but Stanford always plays the Trojans tough and this would be no exception.

Quarterback Kevin Hogan threw for two-hundred seventy nine yards and two touchdowns and Running Back Christian McCaffrey was crafty with over one-hundred yards on the ground to go with ninety-seven yards off punt returns. The Cardinal took the lead into the half and never looked back. After a rough start to the season against Northwestern in a non-conference loss, the Cardinal showed they can fight. Hogan is a warrior and played part of the game injured. In the end, he was fine as Stanford looks to get back into the Top 25 with the win.
