Oregon Ducks Cornerback Chris Seisay Out Indefinitely
The 2015 Season for the Oregon Ducks is becoming the season of injury. On Wednesday it was reported that Wide Receiver Byron Marshall would be out following surgery on an injury suffered during the loss to Utah last weekend. The Ducks season had high hopes with Transfer Vernon Adams, who was supposed to come in and succeed Marcus Mariota at the Quarterback position, only to be unable to really throw the ball with a broken index finger. Following the injury to Marshall, another Oregon Player will now miss significant time, but this time on Defense.
Starting Cornerback, at least for the first two games, Sophomore Chris Seisay has been out of late with a nagging lower leg injury. According to 247Sports and Matt Prehm, Seisay had surgery on Tuesday and will be out indefinitely. The Oregon Ducks Secondary was already shot in experience, and now will be without an experienced Corner in Seisay. The new look Defensive Secondary made an appearance last weekend to not so rave reviews as the unit gave up over two-hundred passing yards and five touchdowns to Travis Wilson and the Utah Utes Receiving Corps.
The Ducks Secondary is going to need to be in the right place at the right time as Pac-12 season continues. Sophomore Arrion Springs, along with Freshman Ugo Amadi and Redshirt Freshman Glen Ihanacho have been pressed into duty. This is also an area where converted Quarterback to Cornerback Ty Griffin can come in and make a big difference. He may not have experience on the Defensive side of the ball, but Griffin does have experience on the Offense and has the speed to play Defense.
The Oregon Ducks visit Colorado this weekend. Kickoff is set for 7pm Pacific Time on ESPN.
