Defensively, Simple Is Better?

After Utah last week, Oregon Ducks Head Coach Mark Helfrich took accountability and Defensive Coordinator Don Pellum simplified the Defensive scheme. However, Oregon lost one of their most experienced players with a lower leg injury and a surgery as Cornerback Chris Seisay will be out for an undisclosed period of time. That leaves Sophomore Arrion Springs, along with Freshman Ugo Amadi and Redshirt Freshman Glen Ihanacho learning on the job without much experience. This is also an area where converted Quarterback to Cornerback Ty Griffin can come in and make a big difference. He may not have experience on the Defensive side of the ball, but Griffin does have experience on the Offense and has the speed to play Defense. It could be a very long night for the Oregon Ducks Defense facing a talented and confident opposing Quarterback in Sefo Liufau.

Luifau also has a weapon in Senior Wide Receiver Nelson Spruce who could have a Heisman caliper night if Oregon is not careful. Utah made the Ducks pay making Quarterback Travis Wilson look like an all pro, throwing for five touchdowns and rushing for over one-hundred yards on the night last Saturday.
