The Oregon Ducks Women’s Volleyball team is coming of a weekend where they went 1-1 in California. Now, the competition opening this weekend will get harder facing another road trip on back to back weekends. This time to Washington to take on the Huskies and the Cougars Despite the loss, Oregon regained a spot in this week’s AVCA Coaches Poll and moved up to 24th. Washington is on a roll at 15-1 on the year so far and will face the Ducks on Friday night. Their only loss was against top ranked USC. The Huskies are hitting .319 this season and are led by Lyanna Sybeldon who is hitting at .481 according to GoDucks.com.

If the Oregon Ducks can pull off a win it would help boost the teams confidence for the rest of the Pac-12 slate, but the team has not won on the road against Washington since 2009 and has not beaten the Huskies since 2012. The Washington State Cougars are a different story.

The Cougars are 13-4 on the season taking most of their non-conference games with a W, but have fallen flat starting Pac-12 Conference play and stand at 2-4. The Ducks have won the last nineteen meetings with the Huskies, so even if the game is competitive on Friday against Washington and they win against Washington State they could still move up a spot or two in the rankings this weekend with two home games coming next weekend at Matthew Knight Arena against UCLA and top ranked USC.

Oregon and Washington faceoff on Friday night at 8pm Pacific Time. The Ducks visit Washington State on Sunday at 1pm. Both games are on Pac-12 Networks.
