Washington State Cougars (5-3, 3-2 Pac-12)
Mike Leach’s team has two home games and two road contests plus doesn’t have the head-to-head. They’ll host Arizona State plus Colorado before playing at UCLA plus rival Washington. This Cougars team has played well and has a manageable closing schedule. Plus, to add to Oregon’s misery they own the tie breaker over the Ducks following their victory in October.
Luke Falk has the Cougars on the right track this season after leading the team to a tie with :01 left in regulation against Oregon which led to an overtime win in Eugene. The Cougars have two losses on the season, the most recent to Stanford on the farm last weekend. They have won three of their last four and are clearly a passing team averaging 409 yards per game to just under 100 yards per game on the ground. The game of the year for Oregon if they win out will be one worth watching. It could come down to Washington State losing to Washington in the final week of the regular season for a chance at the Pac-12 Title game, but there is a lot to consider between now and then and first and foremost, Oregon must beat the Cal Bears.
