DeForest Buckner has been recognized Nationally and is a finalist for the Best Defensive End in the Country, after winning the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year award from the Pac-12 Conference earlier this week.

Oregon Ducks Defensive End DeForest Buckner decided after the conclusion of the 2014 season that he would return to the team for the 2105 season after watching teammate Arik Armstead depart for the National Football League and the San Francisco 49ers. This season, Buckner had led the Defensive Line and has had a monster season for the Oregon Ducks with 8.5 sacks. Buckner had his biggest game of the year with 10 tackles against Stanford. On the season he had 77 tackles and keyed a big play to end the season against Oregon State with a win over the Beavers.
DeForest Buckner was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year earlier this week and has also been named a Finalist for the Ted Hendricks Award for the Best Defensive End in the Country. He is in the mix along with Michigan State Defensive End Shilique Calhoun along with Shaq Lawson from top ranked Clemson and Carl Nassib from the Penn State Nittany Lions. The winner of the award will be announced on December 9th and according to the release, the award will be given out in the Spring of 2016 at a ceremony yet to be determined.

The Senior is the only player in the Pac-12 Conference to make the Finalist list for the award in 2015. The Oregon Ducks await the conclusion of the games played this weekend to find out where they will play in the post season.
