NIKE has announced that the Oregon Ducks will were innovative and lightweight new uniforms recently introduced and will be the only team playing in the NCAA Post season to wear the new uniform.
While it appears for the moment that Navy has the bead on best helmets in the NCAA with painted helmets they will introduce this weekend in the annual Army-Navy game, the Oregon Ducks have been on the forefront for innovations in uniform design. This season, the Ducks showed off several new looks that Nike designed for the team and for the Alamo Bowl, the apparel and shoe giant is once again breaking the mold with new uniforms that Oregon will debut in the Alamo Bowl that will also be featured in the 2016 NFL Pro Bowl.
The announcement was made just two days after the Oregon Ducks were selected to face Texas Christian(TCU) in the Alamo Bowl on Saturday, January 2nd. Oregon will be the only College Football team to wear the new uniform. Not even those in the College Football Playoff will have the honor, which says a lot about the NIKE brand and their connection to the Oregon Ducks.
The Oregon Ducks will be the away team for the Alamo Bowl and wear the white version of the updated uniform. It does appear to lack some of the recent ‘flashy’ look with updated and somewhat ordinary font for names and numerals and no graphics included. The shirt and pants also lack the depth as seen with some of the other uniforms that the Oregon Ducks have worn this season.
