Oregon Ducks vs TCU Horned Frogs: Three Things I’ll Be Watching
The Quarterback position for the Oregon Ducks has been scrutinized pretty well this season. More for the ‘what next’ than the current situation with Vernon Adams at the helm. TCU now has a Quarterback problem with Trevone Boykin not available for the Alamo Bowl. With just a few days to prepare on the practice field for backup Bram Kohlhausen, look for Oregon to be a Defensive disruption. Oregon could jump out to an early lead if the Horned Frogs Offense shows any rust or issues with timing in getting the ball to their Wide Receivers. Kohlhausen has completed over 60 percent of his passes this season, which shows experience. He is more a passing threat though, with just 20 yards on the ground in 2015.
Similar to the Oregon Ducks, it is the ‘next man up’ mentality for TCU. The Horned Frogs could also put their third or fourth string Quarterbacks on the field on Saturday. Foster Sawyer has thrown two touchdowns, but three interceptions this season. Shaun Nixon has one pass for 29 yards on the year. Not having Boykin hurts. You cannot replace 3500+ yards of Offense, but TCU also has a solid running game.
