Royce Freeman vs Aaron Green Could Be A Game Breaker

In breaking down the Star Running Backs for Oregon and TCU, the Horned Frogs are at a disadvantage. Aaron Green had close to 1100 yards on the ground, but Boykin added 600 yards of Offense with his feet giving TCU an 1800 yard rushing attack. Royce Freeman had over 1700 yards on his own. Behind Freeman, Oregon has an electric speedster who can push the ball from side to side with De’Anthony Thomas like speed. Taj Griffin has over 500 yards of Offense in 2015.

Without Boykin as the 1B to Green’s 1A it appears on paper that the advantage in this category goes to the Oregon Ducks, but if the Horned Frogs can get other experienced Backs in the game, they could do some damage. TCU has four backs with over 100 yards on the ground this season. The Run Game will be a key to the Horned Frogs chances at winning the game. I expect a possible trick play or two may be in the mix to try and catch the Oregon Ducks Defense off guard.

The advantage in the Rushing Category is clearly Oregon. From Freeman, to Griffin, to Charles Nelson – and the list goes on and on. Eight players have rushed for over 100 yards this season, three of them Quarterbacks in Jeff Lockie, Tyler Alie and Vernon Adams. The TCU Defense will have to get the push off the line up front early and stop the run game, or at least contain it. Without Boykin in the mix, TCU will play more physical and angry and the Ducks will be ready for it. Offensively without Trevone Boykin, the Horned Frogs turn from two dimensional to one dimensional.
