Oregon Ducks In The NFL: Jake Fisher Shifts Positions For Bengals Playoff Hopes
The Cincinnati Bengals may have found a big replacement for Halfback this week as former Oregon Offensive Lineman Jake Fisher moves to Running Back.
Former Oregon Ducks Offensive Lineman Jake Fisher showed he was versatile for the O-Line when he played in College. Now, in his first season in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals, he will again show that versatility is his middle name. The Bengals finished the season 12-4 and will face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday in the first round of the NFL Playoffs.
The Bengals are among many teams this season that have been bitten by the injury bug and Running Back Ryan Hewitt will not play on Saturday, leaving an option at the H-Back position. Cincinnatti has options on the Offensive Line and Fisher will be part of an experiment and trade in his jersey for another number to fill the void. He will be the H-Back on Saturday for the Bengals Playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers according to Cincinnati.com. There is something about watching a 300-pound Lineman Running downfield that could lead to yards.
"It will be a little tricky. I don’t know if they got that look at practice this week, but I’m pretty sure they didn’t. You got a big man coming downhill like that it’s tough.Jeremy Hill discussing his new Running Mate this week (via Cincinnati.com)"
It will be a fairly even match up between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday. Both teams come in averaging 26 points per game. The ground game could be a key and Fisher has the ability to use his athleticism to be a game changer.
