After starting the season undefeated for their Non-Conference schedule, the Oregon Ducks Women’s Basketball team is in a tailspin having yet to win a Pac-12 Conference game this season. It did not help that in the current stretch Kelly Graves has watched his team drop back to back games to a Top 15 ranked Oregon State team. Jillian Alleyne has also watched her double double steak going back to last season come to an end over the last week.
Oregon returns home after losses last week in an away and home series with Oregon State. On Friday night the Oregon Ducks host another highly ranked team in the Stanford Cardinal. The Cardinal are 13-1 and 2-1 in the Pac-12 Conference so far this season. The last matchup with Stanford was one to remember and a win on Senior night to finish out last season at Matthew Knight Arena. This season, Stanford is again considered the favorite to win the Pac-12 Conference.
The Cardinal are averaging just over 70 points per game this season. Oregon is pushing close to 80 points per game. Stanford is paced Kaylee Johnson and Erika McCall. Against Utah last weekend both players scored double doubles and will be worth keeping an eye on Friday night. Of course, the Oregon Ducks have scorers of their own. Aside from Jillian Alleyne, the role players on the team this season include about everyone on the roster from Liz Brenner to Lexi Petersen to Maite Cazorla.
