Oregon has come back to even in the Pac-12 with a 6-6 Conference mark. Maite Cazorla is a big reason why. The Freshman is hitting over 50 percent from beyond the arc this season.

The Oregon Ducks Women’s Basketball team is gelling at the right time in 2015. Fresh off a sweep of the Washington schools on the road, on Monday Freshman Maite Cazorla was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week. After a rough start to the Pac-12 season and an 0-5 mark, Kelly Graves has rallied his team to a now 6-6 mark and a nice ‘reset’ with a good part of the second half of the Conference season left. Cazorla was impressive on the road this past week hitting over 53 percent from three point range and helping Oregon come back from a 17 point deficit to win on Sunday against Washington.

Oregon will now see the schedule switch in their favor in a big way with four straight games at home starting on Friday night. If there was ever a time to make a move up the Pac-12 Standings it is over the next two weeks. If Graves can keep his team inside the Top six in the Conference numbers, they could have a chance to make the NCAA Tournament. His impact on this team over the last two seasons should not go unnoticed. He has reshaped this team, created outlets on Offense and shifted the focus on Defense and has made the Oregon Ducks a faster more efficient team.
