NFL Combine: Vernon Adams Could Run Chip Kelly’s 49ers Offense
Vernon Adams is looking to impress at the NFL Combine this weekend, but an intriguing possibility of landing in San Francisco with Chip Kelly is fueling the fire this weekend.
Former Oregon Ducks Quarterback Vernon Adams walked the walk at Oregon and led the team to a 9-4 record including putting up 31 points in the Alamo Bowl and throwing for three touchdowns in the Senior Bowl. On Thursday he had the chance to talk the talk – and he did. He spoke with the media and said disussed the San Francisco 49ers Offense and said he could call out over 80 percent of the Offensive plays as they happened.
Chip Kelly’s Offense would be intriguing with Vernon Adams at the helm. He is a guy who already knows the system having played at Oregon, in a system that was initially designed by Kelly when he was their Head Coach.

He game smarts are also off the chart and would benefit him at the next level in the National Football League.As of Friday morning, Quarterback Colin Kaepernick was reportedly looking to be traded out of San Francisco meaning there could be a place for someone like Adams on the roster. With just a full year of experience at Oregon and a solid season taking the Ducks to 9-4 and his experience at Eastern Washington with plenty of film to go around, he may be worth a mid to late round Draft pick for San Francisco.Adams wiil look to improve his NFL Draft stock over the next few days during the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.
