Oregon Ducks In The NFL: Marcus Mariota Stretching His Legs In Training Camp
NFL Training Camps are opening throughout the country and the Tennessee Titans should be excited about how Marcus Mariota has prepared in the offseason.
It appears that former Oregon Ducks Quarterback Marcus Mariota has put his injury plagued Rookie season behind him. He showed on the second day of camp that his second gear when it comes to running the ball has returned according to the Tennessean. He has also added seven pounds of muscle and bulked up for the upcoming season.
Mike Mularkey spoke of the upcoming season and some added attention to the Running Game. I would think following his success at Oregon, that this should be right up Mariota’s alley. Of course, the Tennessee Titans also have DeMarco Murray who is looking to redeem himself following a rough season in Philadelphia with Chip Kelly last season.
"He definitely wants to get the ball downfield with his arm, but when the play breaks and he has to make something happen, a quarterback that can make something happen with his feet, pass rushers and guys getting after the quarterback hate chasing running quarterbacks.Linebacker Brian Orokpo on Mariota’s Running Ability(via the Tennessean)"
From what he did in college, Mariota’s Rookie season could have been better. He had minimal opportunity due to injury to show his true self, but did in a big 87 yard run against Jacksonville that folks are still talking about. With what Tennessee has done this offseason and the upgrades they made to the Offense and Defense, there is a bevy of talent with experience and plenty of new faces in camp that should be able to make a difference entering the 2016 season.

The first preseason game for the Titans is August 13th in San Diego. I expect that Marcus Mariota will see close to a half of action.
