Are Marcus Mariota and DeMarco Murray A Match Made In Nashville?
The Tennessee Titans Offense and Marcus Mariota were impressive with a new look against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday.
If you did not watch the First Quarter, you missed it. It was impressive. The Tennessee Titans had some big Offensive plays from Quarterback Marcus Mariota. Having a running game helps and the addition of DeMarco Murray, who had a highlight 71 yard touchdown run, and the NFL Draft addition of Derrick Henry who also scored does not hurt.
There were moments where the San Diego Defense was able to get to Mariota, but in three series there was a lot of good in his first preseason game of 2016. He went 5 for 5 for 45 yards and showed off his legs and his arm. A 31 yard pass to Rookie Tajae Sharp was another highlight for the former Oregon Ducks Quarterback..
Last season one of the biggest issues was the Offensive Line for the Tennessee Titans. Marcus Mariota saw injuries and hurries that led to dropped passes last year. While the O-Line is still a work in progress, it appeared on Sunday there is some cohesion where there wasn’t last season.
Andre Johnson brought in two catches in the win over San Diego after returning to Tennessee after spending a year with Indianapolis in 2015.
