Oregon Ducks in The NFL: Could De’Anthony Thomas Be Cut In Kansas City?
Former Oregon Star De’Anthony Thomas may be on his way out in Kansas City and is fighting for a roster spot.
Several weeks ago there were rave reviews when De’Anthony Thomas made his debut for the Preseason. A concussion sidelined the Speeder last November. He has been with the Chiefs since 2014, but has never shown Oregon type numbers on the field. Thomas had several electric punt returns over the last few seasons, but in 2016 has discovered a problem. Youth will be served in Kansas City.
According to ESPN, he is not listed on the six deep for the Wide Receivers or in the Punt return position. Not a good sign for the former Oregon Duck. Last season the production just wasn’t there. He played in ten games in the National Football League for a total of just under forty yards and a touchdown.
Since he entered the NFL, Thomas has been plagued by injury and more recently a battle to get onto the field to show his ability. Thursday night he will have to earn a roster spot.
