The Oregon Ducks lost a key recruit to Washington on Saturday.

Elijah Molden, a 4-Star Cornerback out of West Linn announced over the weekend that he committed to the Washington Huskies. The In-State recruit did have the Oregon Ducks high on his list, along with the team that the Ducks faced on Saturday in Stanford.

"I didn’t think about that too much. I just think it wasn’t a fit for me academically and just from where I would have been in the next couple of years.Elijah Molden on Oregon’s Season playing into his decision (via the Oregonian)"

His reasoning was simple. According to John Canzano, who spoke with Molden on Monday, it came down to the right fit. Academically, the Ducks did not take the top spot and the Huskies had more to offer. He also added some insight as a recruit in saying he hopes the coaches ‘stick around.’

Oregon Ducks Head Coach Mark Helfrich may find himself out of a job before the season is out, but ultimately the decision is up to Oregon Athletic Director Rob Mullens. The Ducks have lost eight of their last nine games, but have sustained injuries along the way as well as player suspensions this season. The team has yet to win a road game in 2016.
