Washington Huskies Playoff Chances Ride On Beating Colorado

On Friday night the PAC-12 Championship Game will again take place in Santa Clara.

While the Oregon Ducks are home and not playing in the post-season, two teams will battle it out tonight to represent the Pac-12 in the Postseason.

The Pac-12 Championship will  feature two top ten teams in 8 Colorado and 4 Washington. Both these teams defeated Oregon at some point during the 2016 season, in the two seasons since the Ducks last played for the PAC-12 title they’ve seen two rivals in this game. Stanford and Washington have represented the North since the U of O made it there.

The Huskies are on the verge of a berth in the College Football Playoff with their 11-1 record. Oddly enough both teams lone conference defeat was to Southern California.

While UDub isn’t a total surprise to be in this game, CU being here is definitely that. Mike Macintyre has gotten his program since arriving in Boulder has been incredible.

Chris Petersen’s rebuild in Seattle has also been impressive since taking over and both programs returning to respectability is only good for the league. Quarterback play has been big for both teams, Jake Browning for Washington and Sefo Liufau for Colorado. This looks to be an entertaining game on Friday night between these schools.

The game has gigantic implications for the College Football Playoff. A Washington win will make it very difficult to exclude them. A Colorado win makes way for multiple teams from the same Conference to work their way in – at least into the Conversation.

Either way the Rose Bowl will be up for grabs for the loser of the game.

I slightly give the Huskies the advantage and think they’ll pull away late to win this game 24-17.

Washington and Colorado battle for the Pac-12 Championship on Friday night at 6pm Pacific Time on FOX.
