Oregon Football Defensive Coordinator Jim Leavitt is in elite company when it come to his salary.

The Oregon Ducks needed someone to come in and fix a problem. A Big Problem with the Oregon Football team in 2016. The Defense gave up over 40 points per game. Head Coach Willie Taggart was told to get a good Defensive Coordinator by the President of the University, Michael Schill. Rob Mullens and Company offered the facilities and will pay a big price toward a fix in Defensive Coordinator Jim Leavitt.

According to the Oregonian, Leavitt will more than double is salary at Colorado pulling in over $1 Million a year over a 4 year contract. The exact number is $1.15 million – but when the number is that high, who is really counting. Leavitt is the first hire for Head Coach Willie Taggart and it was an ‘Out of The Park’ hire when it was announced a few weeks ago.

Leavitt has a proven track record with Colorado and turning around a Defense over a two year period. While there will likely be no quick fix for Oregon Football, his progression over 24 months provides some cushion for the price tag.
