After not making the initial list of the Top 50 players to start the year, Oregon Ducks Dillon Brooks made the Top 25 Watchlist for the John R. Wooden Award.
The John R. Wooden Award is given annually to the Best Player in College Basketball who also puts in the work in the Classroom with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Since the start of the 2016 season the Oregon Ducks have gradually brought Junior Dillon Brooks along and he is now at full strength during Pac-12 play. He led the team against UCLA with a game winning three pointer and has been a key player so far in 2017.
Brooks joins three other players to make the cutdown list of 25 after missing out on the list to start the season. He is joined by fellow Pac-12 players Lonzo Ball and TJ Leaf from UCLA, Markelle Fultz from Washington and Lauri Markkanen from Arizona.
The Wooden Award Finalist list will be pared down again in mid February according to their site. The award will be given out on Friday, April 17th on ESPN2.
