Oregon Ducks Move Into AP Top Ten, Behind UCLA and Arizona
It is clear that the Oregon Men’s Basketball team is slow to earn respect in the polls this season, but taking care of business should get them there.
It was a rough weekend for the Top 25 with a handful of Top Ten teams losing, including UCLA who moved from 3rd to 8th with their loss to Arizona. The Wildcats moved 7 spots from 14th to 7th after giving the Bruins a loss on their home floor, but Oregon sputtered up one spot from 11th to 10th in this week’s Associated Press Poll.
The respect for Oregon will come. It is matter of playing ranked teams – that and without Dillon Brooks- I think half the pollsters don’t know this team because of when they play – not necessarily who. Playing many of their games when East Coast voters are going to bed is not a good look. The Oregon Ducks have built a resume this season to the tune of a record 16 straight wins and now 38 straight home wins at Matthew Knight Arena.
The Ducks and Wildcats are also alone at the top of the Pac-12 Standings at 7-0 in Conference. Both teams will faceoff at Matthew Knight Arena in a few weeks.
One place where Oregon is getting some respect is in the latest Bracketology from Joe Lunardi. The Ducks are up to a 3 seed and playing in Sacramento with UCLA also a 3 seed, but on the downward trend.
