Oregon Ducks Take Care Of Business Against Colorado

Oregon Ducks make big statement with 42nd straight win, 101-73 over Colorado.

A sold out Senior Day Crowd watched the Oregon Ducks take on Colorado. The Ducks were looking to take care of business at home with a 41 game home winning streak on the line. Colorado was 1-6 on the road in Pac-12 play and with emotions running high for the home team and a full house at Matthew Knight Arena, Oregon stepped up to the challenge early.

Colorado started the scoring with a three-pointer, but Payton Pritchard answered right back with one of his own to start the scoring. A lot of scoring in the early minutes brought the crowd to their feet at the first timeout. Dillon Brooks, Tyler Dorsey, and Jordan Bell gave Oregon an 11-8 lead over Colorado. Both teams started over 60 percent from the floor and Oregon was 3 for 3 from beyond the arc.

Dillon Brooks added two more three-pointers pushing Oregon to 70 percent shooting from the floor. Oregon’s first team foul came on Chris Boucher at the 10:55 mark of the first quarter. The Ducks led 23-21. On the next possession, Colorado forced an Oregon turnover.

Oregon had three personal fouls in the first half, the Buffaloes had 6. Both teams showed their Offensive Efficiency in the first half. Colorado had 7 assists to the Ducks 9. Colorado went cold in the final minutes of the first half going 0 for 5. Senior Dylan Ennis had a solid first half with several bank shots and hit two free throws to take Oregon into the locker room up 45-32.

The Oregon Ducks continued to push the pace to start the second half allowing just two Colorado points in the first four minutes. Dana Altman watched the team extend their lead to 55-34. The Buffaloes would hit another dry spell from the floor for over three minutes to start the 2nd half.

With 12:05 left Oregon pushed the lead to 67-37 over Colorado shooting 54 percent from the field outrebounding the Buffaloes by 10. The Ducks were hitting 53 percent from beyond the arc.

In the end it was the Oregon Ducks 42nd straight win at Matthew Knight Arena setting a legacy defining moment that will be carried to the 2018 season.

Following the game the crowd had the chance to hear from Seniors Dylan Ennis, Chris Boucher and Charlie Noebel. Oregon will be on the road the rest of the way this season, including the post  season. The regular season continues with a road trip to Cal and Stanford next week.
