Former Oregon Head Coach Chip Kelly has apparently run out of options in the National Football League and is looking at becoming an NFL Analyst for the upcoming season.

Last week, the former San Francisco and Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach interviewed for an Analyst position with FOX Sports according to Charles Robinson from Yahoo Sports. There is definite irony here.

Chip Kelly as a Coach was certainly not media friendly. His love-hate relationship with the press goes back to his time at the University of Oregon. He has been known to be short with the media on more than one occasion but has been unable to find a gig in the NFL. The move actually makes sense.

The former San Francisco and Philadelphia Head Coach will likely be covering Color Analysis according to AwfulAnnouncing. He likely won’t be thrown into the fire right away. One thing that Kelly has is knowledge. He knows how to run things and be successful at the College Level. If he is hired we may all get the chance to see and hear a side of Chip Kelly reserved for meeting and locker rooms preparing for the next ‘faceless’ opponent.

Of course Kelly will keep his options open and likely be back Coaching in the near future, but for now it may be ironic that the folks he spoke to and disliked the most will be a bigger part of his life in the form of a paycheck.
