Oregon Baseball: Ducks Host UC Davis Monday Night
The Oregon Ducks Baseball team off a solid weekend taking two of three from a high-powered Mississippi State Offense take on UC Davis.
The Weekend Starters will likely not see the mound for a tuneup the rest of the season on Monday night. Friday Starter David Peterson threw 17 strikeouts in the home opener. UC Davis comes into the single game having played and lost a rain shortened series at Oregon State over the weekend.
For The Aggies, Ryan Anderson and Jacob Thomas are to players to watch. Both are hitting over .300 to start the season. Anderson leads the team with 7 hits and 21 total bases. From the mound Orlando Razo is 2-1 with a 6.35 ERA. I expect both teams will use regular starters on Defense, but younger players will get some in-game work.
Oregon Ducks Kenyon Yovan saw work over the weekend both on Offense and on the mound. He secured the 1-0 win on Friday night and played a key role in extra innings on Sunday. For the Ducks we may see some young members of a much talked about bullpen get to see some batters.
