Pac-12 Tournament: Arizona State and Stanford Open First Round
The Pac-12 Tournament begins for the Oregon Ducks on Thursday and they will face the winner of the First Round game between Arizona State and Stanford.
Last week,, Arizona State announced a home and home series with Kansas, clearly looking toward the future. The Stanford Cardinal needs a Pac-12 Tournament Championship to have a shot at the post season. ASU and Stanford lost to the Ducks this season within a 3 point margin and could cause a headache for the Oregon Ducks on Thursday.
ASU enters the Pac-12 Tournament with a 7-11 record in Conference. Stanford is one worse at 6-12. Both have talent on Offense. Senior Torian Graham averages 18 points per game. For the Stanford Cardinal Reid Travis is averaging 17 points and 9 rebounds per game. Travis had 27 points and 14 rebounds against the Oregon Ducks in Eugene on Februray 25th. The Cardinal kept it close losing by two points.
Despite the output from Reid, Stanford is averaging 70 points a game this season and also giving up the same amount. Arizona State is doing better pushing 80 points per contest. The Pac-12 Tournament Opener could come down to a few final possessions and turnovers.
