The Oregon Ducks earned a 3 seed in the Midwest Region in the NCAA Tournament and face Iona on Friday.

The season for the Oregon Ducks started with a trip to Spain back in August. Chemistry began to build overseas in preparation for the regular season that started in Hawaii. Head Coach Dana Altman watched his team get through a second straight undefeated schedule at home owning the Nation’s Longest Home Winning Streak at Matthew Knight Arena. The Ducks begin next season with 42 straight at home.

The hard work of the regular season is now over as the debate began as to who would be a top seed in the NCAA Tournament. With the Oregon Ducks wrapping up the postseason with a loss in the Pac-12 Championship against Arizona, the Tournament Committee took a look at the entire body of work, including the loss of Chris Boucher the rest of the way for Oregon.

The Villanova Wildcats were named the number one overall seed and will look to win back to back Championships. The Duke Bluedevils came in at a number two seed. Baylor, who beat Oregon early in the season landed a 3 seed.

The Oregon Ducks landed as a 3 seed in the Midwest Region and will face in Iona in Sacramento California on Friday to open the NCAA Tournament.  The other two teams in Sacramento are 6 seed Creighton and 11 seed Rhode Island.

Let March Madness begin. For the Oregon Ducks a 3 seed is respectable, but you have to wonder if winning the Pac-12 Championship would have given them a 2 seed.
