Oregon Baseball: Ducks Building Momentum, Sweep Santa Clara
The Oregon Ducks found momentum at home over the weekend in a four game sweep of the Santa Clara Broncos.
At any point in the season, momentum can be a dangerous thing. For back to back weekends Oregon Starting Pitchers have found a groove led by David Peterson. He has led the way with 14 strikeouts on Friday to go with 17 Strikeouts and two wins over the last two weeks for the Oregon Ducks.
George Horton saw his 300th win at Oregon on Saturday and now back to back shutout performances from his pitching staff. The Oregon Offense has also found a groove. The Ducks had 15 hits on Saturday and 6 on Sunday. Spencer Steer had two RBI’s, a double and a run scored in the series finale.
Kyle Kasser has led off brilliantly this season and raised is batting average over .375. He batted .429 in the four-game series vs Santa Clara. Kasser has reached base in every game this season helping the Ducks to an 11-4 start heading into Pac-12 Conference play this weekend vs California.
