NCAA Tournament: Oregon Ducks Top Iona, Jordan Bell Rings Double Double
Oregon beats Iona 93-77 led by Tyler Dorsey and Jordan Bell with a double double.
The Oregon Ducks forced Iona into three early turnovers, but the Gaels Star Player Jordan Washington kept his team in the game early with 14 points in the first ten minutes of the game. Dillon Brooks started the game with a three-pointer for the Ducks, but picked up a second foul on an Offensive play midway through the first half.
Tyler Dorsey continued his hot shooting from the Pac-12 Tournament with 10 points early in the first half. Oregon had a 27-20 lead with 9:10 left in the first half. Iona hit back to back three pointers on a 14-6 run with Brooks out of the lineup for Oregon. He returned to the lineup to key an 8-2 run and give the Ducks some breathing space.
Oregon shot 67 percent in the first half and Jordan Bell stood out going 6 for 6 from the floor in the first half for 15 points. The Ducks shot 21 for 31 in the first half and took a 55-37 lead into the locker room.
The Ducks continued to push the lead in the second half and Iona was not able to close the gap. Jordan Bell finished with a double double. He had 17 points and 10 rebounds as Oregon moved on to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. Bell was among four in double figures led by Tyler Dorsey with 24 points. It was Dorsey’s fourth straight game with over 20 points.
Casey Benson came in and made his presence felt off the bench with 9 points.
