The Oregon Ducks picked up their first Pac-12 win of the season defeating California on the road Friday night.

Oregon Starter David Peterson was shaky at the start, but settled in nicely throwing six innings and scattering nine hits. The Ducks Ace also struck out 8 Golden Bears. The Oregon Offense showed their experience on the road. Senior Jake Bennett had two hits and three runs in three at bats. One hit was a home run. A.J. Balta also went long for Oregon. The Ducks won 7-1 and left ten players on base.

Kyle Kasser continued to show his power at the plate with two hits and a run. California hit .351 to the Ducks .353 for the game, but Oregon took advantage of key opportunities.  The Oregon Ducks have learned that lesson early this season. It also helps when you have a hot bat as your leadoff hitter. Kasser was 2 for 3 hitting .667 for the game to open Pac-12 play.

The Oregon Ducks bullpen gave up one run and four hits. Kenyon Yovan, who is becoming dependable as closer pitched 1 1/3 innings and posted three strikeouts to secure the save.
