Oregon Baseball: Ducks Take Two Of Three At California
The first two games saw the Oregon Ducks Offense of the last week, but the Ducks dropped the series finale on Sunday vs the California Golden Bears.
California(9-9, 1-2 Pac-12) snapped the Oregon Ducks(13-5, 2-1 Pac-12) eight game winning streak despite losing the series two games to one to open Pac-12 play. Oregon managed six hits on Sunday, but getting runners to home plate was a problem. Cole Stringer struggled and gave up two runs in the second inning.
Jake Bennett went 7 for 13 on the weekend and the Senior was 1 for 4 on the day Sunday. Bennett was one of a few bright spots in the finale that saw 19 fly ball outs for the Oregon Ducks.
Stringer threw four innings of four hit ball giving up two hits. James Ocuna followed for two innings giving up just one hit. Connor Zwetsch threw for one out to close out the game giving up a hit.
The Oregon Ducks currently sit third in the Pac-12 behind two Pac-12 Conference undefeated teams in Washington and Oregon State. The Ducks can move into second place this weekend hosting the Huskies for three games at PK Park starting with David Peterson on Friday night. Peterson has won four straight games for Oregon and is a good starting point following a loss.
